Mrs. Aviva Hoberman joined Shalom Torah more than 6 years ago and has over 20 years in education. She holds a Master's Degree in Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has completed additional coursework at Kean University. Mrs. Hoberman is NJ State certified in supervision, K-8 education, and special education.
Before coming to Shalom Torah, Mrs. Hoberman worked for 12 years in the Marlboro Township public school system. She has also taught graduate-level courses for Mercy College (Working with Parents and Families; Assessment in Education). In addition, Mrs. Hoberman is currently on the Consortium of Jewish Day Schools team as a L'Havin Chumash curriculum advisor to school leaders around the country.
As the school's principal, Mrs. Hoberman applies her passion for active student engagement in the classroom. She strongly believes in the importance of catering to the "whole child" with an emphasis on social/emotional growth. As a school leader, she also provides ongoing professional development for teachers, ensures that the Judaic and General Studies curriculum is rigorous, and incorporates educational best practices to keep improving and fine-tuning the educational programs.
